Internships shall be changed to be a merit based system combined with a public vote of acceptance; instead of just the latter.

During the time an internship, an intern shall be require to show the following:

  1. A predisposition to handling conflict diplomatically with a calm and cool mindset;
  2. An ability to recognize and moderate actionable situations with tact and discretion;
  3. Demonstrates an ability to take constructive criticism in stride and implement coaching into their moderation;
  4. Has shown clear understandings of current moderation needs and actions,
    1. Shows a clear understanding of room rules,
    2. Shows a clear understanding of moderation techniques,
    3. Can explicitly demonstrate micro-mutes,
    4. Can explicitly demonstrate long mutes and bans by logging in the #ban-logs,
    5. Can explicitly demonstrate how to resolve interpersonal conflicts by using the moderation server and or established moderation systems, and not public channels; and
  5. Can handle public pressure without the need to moderate a user.

During an internship, a vote of acceptance shall not initiate until each intern has demonstrated all requirements as stated.

There shall be a new channel created specifically for the tracking of internships, each new intern hired shall be posted in said channel, with a checklist of the above requirements. A Sophomore Mod+ shall endorse new interns each time they may see them actioning a part of the requirements. It shall be up to the person who invited the intern to join the team to keep track of each endorsement, and post the checklist as provided.

Each time an endorsement is made, the endorsement must @ the team member who invited the intern and the intern themselves.

Once an intern has met all requirements, a public vote of acceptance to the moderation team may occur. This vote shall be restricted to only moderators of the room. Once a vote has hit a majority acceptance, they shall be promoted to freshman and a full fledged moderator.

An intern may be invited to the moderation team by a Senior Mod+. The moderation member who invited them shall provide a public vote to invite said intern. If a 1/3rd acceptance is at least reached, then they shall start their trial period as described. If an intern can not reach all requirements within one month's time, then that intern shall have failed; they may be re-invited though, provided the same process is followed.

Internships wholly rejected by the moderation team by either their invitation vote or the public acceptance vote as a moderator of the room, shall not be eligible to be invited as a moderator again for a period of two months.

All other provisions that conflict, these provisions as described shall survive and supersede.
